Automatically Create a Basecamp Project when an Estimate is Approved — Zapier Integration Example

 on

After writing the the post yesterday about the Zapier Integration coming in v6.0 I wanted to show a real world example, something that could help anyone using a project management tool included in Zapier’s 300+ apps.

Zapier integrates with any a lot of project management services, including Github and Trello. In this example I’m going to create a Basecamp project when an Sprout Invoices estimate is approved.

Creating a Zap is fairly straightforward, simply select the trigger and action. In this case the trigger is with Sprout Invoices and it’s when an Estimate is Accepted. The action for this example is with the Basecamp App and it is to Create a Project.

Notice in the example above that I created a filter for any estimate with a Total of over $100, since anything less is likely not a project at all and just a basic task.

After you match the fields of what Sprout Invoices sends to Zapier (which is a lot) with the new Basecamp Project than you’re all set to run a test…

…above is a test made. It shows that the estimate information was sent to Zapier and initiated the creation of the new basecamp project.

That’s all.

Keep in mind that you you can create any workflow you want with Zapier, e.g. I know many that would rather create a Basecamp Project when the Invoice Deposit is made. That’s all possible, you just need to create a new Zap like the one above.

I’d like to hear from you what Zaps you have with Sprout Invoices and/or those Zaps that you’d like to create, especially when the possibilities are vast.
